SEND youth panel
SEND Youth Panel
A Space to Lead. A Space to Belong.
The SEND Youth Panel is a youth-led project designed to empower young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to plan, organise, and run their own social events and activities.
This is a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where young people can share ideas, build confidence, and shape activities that matter to them.
What We Do
The panel meets monthly to:
-
Plan social events and activities
-
Organise parties and celebration events
-
Arrange cinema nights
-
Develop creative and social opportunities
-
Make decisions together as a team
Members work collaboratively to turn ideas into real events, building leadership, communication, and teamwork skills along the way.
Why It Matters
Young people with SEND can experience higher levels of isolation and barriers to social opportunities.
The SEND Youth Panel helps to:
-
Reduce isolation
-
Build friendships
-
Increase confidence
-
Develop decision-making skills
-
Create inclusive social experiences shaped by young people themselves
